Who should attend?
This course has been designed by leading researchers in the field of ergonomics and is specially designed to be undertaken by employees in any organisation who need to apply ergonomics principles to their work.

Why should I attend?
It will provide you with an understanding of the key issues related to workplace ergonomics and work design and will also direct you towards additional resources to facilitate the learning process. You will gain a broad overview of the discipline of ergonomics and practical guidance for applying ergonomics techniques. In addition, you will have a choice of additional topics related to applied ergonomics so the course can be tailored towards your area of interest.

Expected outcomes
Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Ergonomics.

Course content
The course is delivered on-line and students study two modules. Each module has a value of 30 credits and represents 300 hours of study, including formal teaching, independent study, revision and the preparation of assessments.

Assessment
The modules are assessed by a combination of examination and project work or course work. Overseas students can make arrangements to sit the examination in their home country.

All learning materials and access to University library resources.

Recommended pre-requisites
Acceptance onto the course will depend on students holding a first degree or its equivalent from a recognised institution. If students have an alternative non-degree or professional qualification, for instance within engineering, design or health sciences, this may also be considered for entry. Overseas applicants should be fluent in English, as demonstrated by a British Council IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum score of 6.0 in any one element or a score of at least 87 on the iBT, with no less than 21 in listening and writing, 22 in reading and 23 in speaking.

Locations
Distance learning course including on-line tutorials and there are optional tutorials held at Nottingham for those who can attend.
