Ergonomics for Osteopaths

Osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors and any manual therapists who give lifestyle advice.
Why you should attend
To gain an understanding of ergonomics, in particular about workstation assessments and manual handling. You will gain 6 hours CPD.
What you will learn
An understanding of the health & safety regulations that apply to computer workers. How to undertake a workstation assessment and train computer users about how injuries occur and how to avoid them. You will be shown some of the equipment that is available to address certain conditions. A basic understanding of the Manual Handling Regulations, risk assessment, risk reduction and lifting technique.
Expected outcomes
You will be able to give advice to patients about how to set up their workstations and any accessories they may require. If they have manual tasks you can offer advice to reduce the risks of the task. You will also be able to go into a working environment and undertake training and workstation assessments.

Feedback on workstation assessments in practical session.
