Conducting a practical ergonomics assessment in industry

Summary: This 2 day course is for health professionals and physiotherapists to gain an understanding of how to perform a basic ergonomic assessment in the workplace.

This two day course is ideally suited for occupational health professionals, health and safety professionals and physiotherapists. You will gain an understanding of how to perform a basic ergonomic assessment in the workplace. You will find out which assessment tool can be used in different situations.

You will get an overview of ergonomics, anthropometry, work related upper limb disorders, low back pain, basic ergonomic design principles. You will learn about tools such as QEC, RULA, REBA, ART Tool, MAC Tool, Body Part Discomfort Tool.

The assessment for the course will consist of a review of your competence in a group discussion using the ergonomic assessments you conducted during the practical sessions.
