Who can become a Student Member?
Any student with an interest in ergonomics/human factors can join the Institute as a Student Member – there is no need to be on a particular course of study, you simply have to be registered as a student with an educational institution.
What happens when I graduate?
The Institute recognises some degree courses as accredited courses which means that on graduation, people with these degrees are eligible to become a Graduate Member. On graduation from any other degree course you can become an Associate Member. Both Graduate and Associate members can, with sufficient experience of working in ergonomics/ human factors, become eligible to apply to become either a Technical Member, or more likely, a Registered Member.
How much does it cost?
The current subscription rate for Student Members is £24. Please consider paying by Direct Debit as it helps us to process your membership subscriptions faster and you don’t need to do anything more when the time comes around to pay.
How do I apply?
Simply complete the application form and email it to the office. Note that the application form is a PDF that can be filled in electronically but you must have Adobe Reader 9.0 or later. Get Adobe reader.
