Healthcare has changed substantially in the last 20 years, both in terms of the technology, sophistication, complexity and cost of potential treatments, but also in the organisation, management and delivery of care.
These developments have contributed to increasing involvement of human factors and ergonomics professionals to provide expertise in areas such as medical device design, medication errors, systems design and analysis and simulation training.
