OSHEN, the Occupational Safety & Health Ergonomics Network, is the forum for anyone with an interest in improving the quality of life of people at work, home and leisure. You do not have to be a member of the Institute to join. The network is used to encourage debate, support and free exchange of ergonomics information within the ergonomics community and also with professionals from other work areas whose job impacts on improving the quality of life. A more formal responsibility of the group is to coordinate and communicate replies to consultative documents, and to engage with other professions and ensure that the Institute's views are represented.

The network has reviewed a number of HSE publications and has organised workshops. It is hoped that over the coming year OSHEN will be able to develop further such ideas and put them into practice with the support of the Institute. OSHEN affords a real opportunity for members to participate in a SIG that has the potential to cross disciplines and share ideas. It can increase the profile of ergonomics and its growing importance in the field of occupational safety and health risk management.

If you have ideas about activities that would benefit members of the group or you would like to join, please contact us.
