The Institute has become a Partner in the PE-ABLE Project. This is a Lifelong Learning Project (LLP) funded by the EU Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
The main objective of the project is to develop an on-line training tool to facilitate ergonomics learning. The focus is on the application of ergonomics through participatory approaches to improve working conditions, particularly the reduction of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The target groups are occupational health and safety specialists who need to access ergonomics knowledge and techniques to make interventions which will reduce the MSD risks.
The other Partners in this project are the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia, IBV (Spain), the Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands), Global Human Development (Portugal) and the Union Institute of Work, Environment and Health, ISTAS (Spain). The e-learning tool resulting from the project will be available in four European languages (English, Spanish, Dutch and Portuguese).
