The Clinical Human Factors Group (CHFG) is a charity working in the NHS to improve awareness and the application of human factors and ergonomics in healthcare.
CHFG is creating a short resource for NHS Boards (i.e. chief executives, non-executive directors, chairmen, nursing directors, medical directors, finance and workforce directors), which aims to increase their awareness of what human factors is and how it can improve human performance and ultimately, patient safety.
We are trying to source vignettes and stories from other domains which describe Board level engagement and implementation of human factors. Any stories or experiences you have which persuaded senior managers of the importance of human factors would be most welcome. Please email your information and ideas to Jane Carthey.
