The Institute's PR & Communications Committee and members of the IEHF help to ensure that enquiries for information from the media are dealt with. Responses are often needed quickly and on a variety of subjects. Listed below are a selection of these responses.     Derby University psychologist and ergonomist Miles Richardson's research into how adults tackle DIY projects has lead to a greater understanding of the way children approach construction tasks. This in turn could help identify children who might struggle academically, resulting in steps being taken to support them in intervening years.

  • Air crash survival

    ESRI ergonomist Rachel Grant spoke to Fox television about possible ergonomics reasons why a young boy was the sole survivor of the Libyan air crash in May.

  • The effectiveness of ergonomists

    Research by Claire Williams, a lecturer at Derby University, into the qualities that ergonomists need to best advise employers when their staff suffer workplace problems, was featured on the Physorg website.
