Find an accredited consultancy

If you’re looking for help with a work-related problem or for someone to comment on a topic or write an article, check our directory of IEHF-accredited consultancies. They employ experts in ergonomics and human factors and who have experience of all sectors including office work, healthcare, transport, defence and a wide range of industries.

All the consultants are happy to have an informal chat with you about your enquiry, but if you need a more formal process to document your requirements and select a consultant, you might find our Help to Find an Accredited Consultancy useful. It also contains an explanation of the different areas of work in which consultancies have experience.

    Details

CCD is a creative, user-focussed design & human factors/ergonomics consultancy based in central London, working across the UK and internationally. Our practice uses a combination of Ergonomists, Psychologists, Designers and Architects to provide an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to the design of systems, products, workspaces and buildings.

We have been applying this pragmatic blend of skills to bring benefits to our clients for over 30 years. We work in air, rail, and road transport sectors, the nuclear, oil and gas industries, public and private utilities, manufacturing companies, the emergency services, as well as security, healthcare and research sector companies. Our clients include Network Rail, CERN, Siemens, BAA, Transport for London, Thames Water, Home Office, Metropolitan Police, NATS, Eurostar and Exxon Mobil.

We operate two divisions – CCD Human Factors and CCD Design.

CCD Human Factors advises business, government and other organisations on how to improve efficiency and reduce human error by optimising work environments, systems & processes. Our work includes:

    • Understanding how people behave and what they are trying to do and their needs.
    • Modelling and predicting how people will perform including workload and human error assessments.
    • Establishing how people behave through practical applied research.
    • Evaluating how workspaces are designed using specialist human 3D CAD analysis.

CCD Design is a design consultancy that puts people and the science of ergonomics at the heart of designing complex buildings, workspaces and products. CCD is a world leader in the design control rooms and command & control systems. We offer services in:

    • Establishing the feasibility of projects including concept design and operational concepts.
    • The full range of architectural, interior design and furniture design activities.
    • Environmental design including lighting and acoustics.
    • The capture and integration of user requirements and engaging with end users in the design process.
    • Full 3D CAD visualisation – images and flythroughs.
    • Continuity of design into implementation and delivery.

Visit our website for more on our capabilities and case studies and see how we bring together design and ergonomics to add value to the projects we work on and deliver tangible benefits to our clients.
