SUMMARY:Visual Image Safety
DESCRIPTION:VIMS 2013: the 4th International Symposium on Visual IMage Safety. How can an image be ‘unsafe’? Quite easily\, as it turns out. Flashing lights can produce photo-epileptic fits\, moving images can produce symptoms like those of motion sickness\, people have complained of eyestrain and headaches after viewing 3D stereoscopic images and\, historically\, when VDUs were first introduced there were numerous problems reported. This symposium will be organised by Dr Peter Howarth from Loughborough University and Dr Cyriel Diels from Coventry University. Deadline for submission of abstracts is 3rd June 2013.
