Associate Member

Who can become a Associate Member?

Anyone with an interest in ergonomics and human factors is welcome to join the IEHF and enjoy the benefits of membership – regardless of your educational qualifications or your area of work.

Can I upgrade my membership in the future?

Yes, you can apply to become a Technical Member or a Registered Member. You will need a minimum of two years of work experience of ergonomics and human factors for Technical Membership and 4 years for Registered Membership. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of ergonomics in at least one area for Technical Membership, and in five areas for Registered Membership. Your application will usually involve keeping a log book of the work you undertake during your years as an Associate. It is important to start this process early, so that you have all the necessary records when you wish to apply. You should read the information about Technical or Registered Membership as soon as you become an Associate Member.

How much does it cost?

The current subscription rate for an Associate Member is £68 if you pay by direct debit. If you pay by cheque or debit/credit card, a fee of £8 will be added.

How do I apply?

Simply complete the application form and email it to the office. Note that the application form is a PDF that can be filled in electronically but you must have Adobe Reader 9.0 or later. Get Adobe reader.

Problem with interactive application form?

Please note: due to recent Firefox updates, the PDF application form may not display in the interactive format it should in this browser. If this is the case, click on 'Firefox' in the very top left hand corner of the window, then Options, Options, Applications. Scroll down to where it lists 'Portable Document Format (PDF)' and click on it. It will then give you options as to how to open it. Change it to 'Use Adobe Acrobat x.x' and open the PDF file again. You should now be able to fill in and save the file.
